HINDI MAN magkasama sa isang partido, tinukuran ng isang kongresista ang husay na ipinamalas ni presidential son at Ilocos Norte Rep. Sandro Marcos sa mga natatanging panukala sa Kamara.
Partikular na tinukoy ni Deputy Speaker at La Union Rep. Paolo Ortega V ang kakayahan ni Sandro tumugon sa mabigat na hamon bilang mambabatas sa kabila pa ng mga pagsubok na kinakaharap ng administrasyong Marcos.
Katangi-tangi rin aniya ang sabayang tugon ni Sandro sa iba’t-ibang mahahalagang panukalang batas sa gitna ng pagtugon sa mga inihaing impeachment complaints laban sa kanyang amang presidente at maging kay Vice President Sara Duterte.
“The impeachment process is a constitutional duty that we take seriously, but it is only one of many responsibilities of the House. Amid a packed legislative agenda, House Majority Leader Marcos took the lead in securing the approval of vital measures, acting on the guidance of Speaker Dy. We remained focused on our work – passing priority measures, protecting public welfare and ensuring that the legislative agenda continues to move forward,” wika ni Ortega ng ruling Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (CMD).
Bukod dito, bumilib din si Ortega sa pagsusulong ni Marcos ng dalawang mahahalagang panukalang batas na nakatuon sa pagpapalakas ng public accountability at sektor ng turismo sa bansa.
Partikular dito ang inihain ng House majority leader na House Bill 7432 (No Work, No Pay for Members of Congress Act) at HB na naglalayon naman kalusin ang travel tax na balakid sa pag-usad ng lokal na turismo.
“These measures reflect a strong commitment to public accountability and economic growth. By ensuring that lawmakers are held to clear standards of performance while easing the burden on travelers, Majority Leader Marcos has advanced reforms that benefit both governance and the broader economy,” paglalarawan ng La Union lawmaker twin sa measures ng batang Marcos.
Kabilang naman sa mga panukalang batas na pinagtibay ng Kamara sa third at final reading ang HB 6676 (Energy Systems Storage Act), HB 7239 para sa pagkakaroon ng compulsory insurance coverage a hanay ng electrical at telecommunications line workers, HB 7304 na nagdedeklara sa unang Lunes ng Agosto kada taon ng bilang Philippine Veterans’ Month, HB 7303 na nagdedeklara sa Disyembre 12 bilang Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe Day, HB 7368 na nagtatakda sa Nobyembre 30 bilang Jesus Reigns National Day of Worship, at ang HB 7379 para naman sa pagtatakda sa Disyembre 19 bilang National Masonic Day.
