PARA sa isang ranking House leader, malinaw ang pakay ni former President Rodrigo Duterte sa aniya’y pinapakalat na fake news hinggil sa di umano’y “blank appropriation” sa nilagdaan 2025 national budget.
Sa isang kalatas, kinastigo ni House Deputy Majority Leader at La Union 1st District Rep. Paolo Ortega ng La Union ang dating Pangulo sa aniya’y panggigipit sa hangaring pwersahin ang administrasyon ibalik ang bilyon-bilyong pondo ni Vice President Sara Duterte.
“Former President Duterte’s allegations of ‘blank appropriations’ in the 2025 budget are pure disinformation. This is a deliberate effort to mislead the public and manipulate the budget process to bring back the P2 billion fund previously allocated to the Office of the Vice President,” patutsada ni Ortega.
Ani Ortega, lumang tugtugin na ang pagpapakalat ng fake news gamit ang mga internet troll para manipulahin ang kaisipan ng publiko.
“Lumang style na ng mga internet troll ang magpakalat ng kasinungalingan. Pero ngayon, mas maalam na ang mga tao kung alin ang totoo at alin ang peke,” ayon pa sa ranking House official.
Giit ni Ortega, sumailalim sa masusi at konstitusyonal na proseso ang 2025 budget bago ganap na maging batas sa bisa ng lagda ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
“The so-called ‘blank allocations’ are a fabrication meant to sow confusion and undermine the administration’s commitment to fiscal transparency and accountability,” bulalas pa ng La Union lawmaker.
Magugunitang tinapyas ng Kongreso ang budget ng Office of the Vice President ngayong taon. Mula sa hirit na P2 bilyong budget noong 2024, binigyan lang ng Kongreso ang OVP ng P733 milyon para sa hangaring isulong ang “transparency” at “accountability” sa paggamit ng limitadong pondo ng gobyerno.
“Let’s set the record straight – there are no blank allocations in the budget. The reductions made were necessary to ensure that government funds are properly utilized and directed to priority programs that benefit the Filipino people,” paliwanag ni Ortega.
Kumbinsido rin ang kongresista na nais lamang sirain ng matandang Duterte ang proseso ng pagbabadyet para ipawalambisa ang 2025 national budget, na magiging hudyat ng “reenacted budget” kung saan may garantisadong P2 bilyong pondo ang OVP na pinamumunuan ng anak na si VP Sara.
“This sudden concern for budget integrity is laughable, especially given the unresolved corruption scandals during Duterte’s term, such as the Pharmally fiasco,” ani Ortega.
“This is nothing more than a desperate ploy to regain control over public funds. The 2025 budget has been crafted to serve the people effectively and efficiently,” dagdag ng kongresista. (ROMEO ALLAN BUTUYAN II)
