SA halip na ilihis ang tunay na usapin, mas angkop kung sasagutin ng pamilya Duterte ang mga alegasyon sa likod ng pagkasawi ng hindi bababa sa 27,000 katao sa giyera kontra droga sa ilalim ng nakalipas na administrasyon.

“Because what has happened so far is just political deflection. The recent controversial ‘designated survivor’ statement of Vice President Sara Duterte is a prime example of this. As the issue hangs over the heads of the Duterte family, instead of answering directly, they deflect the issue,” dagdag pa ni Chua na tumatayong vice-chairman ng House Committee on Metro Manila Development.
Paalala ni Chua, lumutang ang ilang mga saksi, gaya ni dating Police Colonel Eduardo Acierto sa pagdinig ng Kongreso kung saan tahasang iniuugnay ng huli sa illegal drug activities si former President Rodrigo Duterte at mga kilalang kaalyado nito.
Giit ng Manila lawmaker, dapat magbigay ng direktang sagot ang kampo ng dating Punong Ehekutibo lalo’t mabigat ang alegasyong binitawan ni Acierto na ang huli ay tumatayong protektor sa drug trafficking operations ng dating presidential economic adviser Michael Yang.
“Idinawit yung economic adviser mo sa drugs, tapos you don’t confront the issue head-on? It defies human experience if they will continue to ignore the issue and pursue political deflection as a strategy,” sabi ni Chua.
“They are neglecting their duty to the people, and they are setting a very poor example to those in public service. What happened to integrity and honesty among government officials?” Dagdag pa niya.
Habang nagsasagawa ng pagdinig ang House Committee on Dangerous Drugs, na pinamumunuan ni Surigao del Norte Rep. Robert Ace Barbers, biglang inilutang ni Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio ang planong pagtakbo bilang senador umano ng kanilang ama at mga kapatid na sina Davao City Mayor Baste at Davao City Rep. Paolo Duterte sa 2025 midterm elections.
“Why would anyone not want to answer serious allegations such as these. The right thing to do is deny it if it is not true. But instead of answering all allegations, they deflect and stir controversy somewhere else,” ang reaksyon ni Chua sa binalandrang isyu ng bise-presidente.
Bukod sa dating Pangulo, sinabi ni Acierto na protektor din ng operasyon ng iligal na droga sina Senators Bong Go at Bato dela Rosa.
Ani Acierto, si Yang ay isa umanong drug lord kung saan ang huli ay nadawit din sa multi-bilyong Pharmally scandal sa panahon ng Duterte administration.
Nauna ng ipinag-utos ni House panel chairman Rep. Barbers ang pag-aresto kay Yang na lumutang ang pangalan sa isinasagawa nitong imbestigasyon kaugnay ng nakumpiskang P3.6 bilyong shabu sa isang warehouse sa Mexico, Pampanga.
Maging sina Johnson Chua, Allan Lim, at Allan Sy, na ayon din kay Acierto ay konektado sa operasyon ng ipinagbabawal na gamot ay pinaiimbitahan ni Barbers para humarap sa susunod nilang pagdinig.
