SINUSPINDE ng House Infrastructure Committee (Infra Comm) ang pagdinig sa kontrobersyal na usapin ng flood control, ghost projects at budget insertions upang bigyang-daan ang malayang imbestigasyon ng Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI).
Para kay Infra Comm chairman Terry Ridon (Bicol Saro partylist) higit na angkop ang tinawag niyang “full and impartial proceedings” nang walang bahid politika, lalo pa’t kabilang ang mga kapwa kongresista sa Kamara ang mga itinuturong sangkot sa anomalya.
Bilang patunay ng suporta sa panawagan para sa pagbabago, tiniyak ni Ridon ang pagsusumite ng “transcripts, documents and other pieces of information and evidence to the ICI.”
“It is our commitment to fully cooperate with the ICI on any and every aspect of our previous proceedings,” dagdag pa ng neophyte Bicol Saro partylist lawmaker.
Ibinida rin ni Ridon na sa dalawang pagdinig ng komite, napilitan umanong bumaba sa pwesto ang mga miyembro ng Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board (PCAB) sa gitna na rin ng mga alegasyon ng unexplained wealth at licenses for sale.
“The disclosure of one billion pesos in cash assets of MG Samidan Construction, one of the fifteen largest flood control contractors named by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr; the disclosure of the financial statements of all Discaya-linked firms from 2014 to 2023, which showed the sharp rise of their consolidated revenues during the Duterte administration, and that such massive revenues have been sustained up to the present,” anang House panel head.
Sa pamamagitan din aniya ng kanilang komite, may mga testimonya at ebidensyang nagdawit sa mga high-level officials, kapwa sa executive at legislative branch, sa ghost at substandard flood control projects sa Bulacan. (ROMER R. BUTUYAN)
