Mas maagang paglabas ng hatol kay Duterte, tinukuran

PARA sa lupon ng tagausig, hindi na dapat pang pahabain ang paglilitis kay Vice President Sara Duterte.

Sa isang kalatas, partikular na tinukoy ni House prosecutor at Bicol Saro partylist Rep. Terry Ridon ang pahayag ni Senate President Sherwin Gatchalian hinggil sa napipintong pagwawakas ng impeachment trial sa susunod buwan.

“Kung kaya mas maaga pa, I think it will be better for everyone,” wika ni Ridon.

Gayunpaman, nilinaw ng kongresista na igagalang ng prosekusyon ang anumang petsa ang itatakda ng Senate impeachment court.

“Well I think kung kaya mas maaga pa, I think it will be better for everyone. Pero…kung ‘yan ang hard date nila to actually decide on it, it is something we will respect bilang bahagi ng prosecution,” dagdag ni Ridon.

Ang “judgement timeline” ay nakadepende aniya kung gaano kabilis ang prosekusyon at depensa sa pagprisinta ng kani-kanilang ebidensya at testigo.

“It’s not a definite target. Ultimately naman, it will be dependent on how fast we can actually finish our presentation of evidence and how fast the defense can actually present their own sets of evidence at ‘yung panahon para makapagpasya ‘yung Senate impeachment court,” sabi pa ni Ridon.

Sa panig ni House legal spokesperson at private prosecutor Jay Tolosa Jr., sa pagbilang ng magugugol sa impeachment trial days, ang maaari lang nila makontrol ay ang pag prisinta nila ng mga ebidensya.

“Ang intention namin matapos na yan at least before the start of the one-month break… on October 15 to November 15. Pero syempre yung presentation ng defense, that’s something we cannot control kung gaano sila kabilis,” pahayag ni Tolosa.

“At least sa amin sa prosecution nakikita natin talagang yung efforts namin from the start, pinapabilis talaga natin. Magmula sa grave threats hanggang sa confidential funds, we aggressively trimmed down the list of witnesses’ para mapabilis dahil narinig natin ‘yung sentimyento ng publiko na gusto natin as much as possible pabilisin ‘yung trial.”

“That’s also what we intend to do dito sa usapin ng unexplained wealth. But pagdating na oras na para sa defense mag-prisinta ng evidence, we hope walang delay at mapabilis rin,” pahabol ng abogado.
