INALMAHAN ni former Health Secretary Francisco Duque III ang pasya ng Office of the Ombudsman matapos madamay sa mga personalidad na sasampahan ng asunto kaugnay ng maanomalyang P41-billion Pharmally scandal.
Hirit ni Duque sa Ombudsman, tanggalin ang kanyang pangalan sa mga kakasuhan.
Paliwanag ng dating Kalihim, legal ang fund transfer ng DOH para sa mga personal protective equipment sa Department of Budget and Management (DBM) noong kasagsagan ng pandemya.
“We will file an MR (motion for reconsideration) immediately, probably by Monday or Tuesday, to the decision and resolution of the Ombudsman,” ani Duque sa isang artikulo na unang lumabas sa Philippine Daily Inquirer.
“And we will refute the allegations there. There are a lot of documents … that will support the transfer as regular and legal,” dugtong pa ni Duque.
Una nang nakitaan ng “probable cause” si dating Budget Undersecretary Lloyd Christopher Lao kaugnay ng anila’y “illegal transfer” ng P41.46 bilyong pondo ng DOH para pambili ng personal protective equipment noong 2020.
Sa isang hiwalay na resolusyon, idinawit ng Ombudsman si Duque sa kasong “grave misconduct” at “conduct prejudicial to the best interest of the service.”
Bukod kina Duque at Lao, kaladkad din sa asunto sina dating DBM procurement director Warren Liong, DBM procurement management officer Paul Jasper de Guzman, at mga corporate executive ng Pharmally kabilang sina Twinkle Dargani, Linconn Ong, Justine Garado, Huang Tzu Yen at Chinese businessman Lin Wei Xiong na di umano’y nangapital para sa Pharmally.
