NAPATUNAYAN ng Office of the Ombudsman na nagkasala si dating National Irrigation Administration acting administrator Benny Antiporda sa harassment at oppression sa mga empleyado nito.
Sa desisyon ng Office of the Ombudsman na inaprubahan ni Deputy Ombudsman Jose Balmeo, Jr. noong Agosto 30, iniutos ang suspensiyon ni Antiporda nang walang sahod sa loob ng isang taon o bayaran ang katulad na multa.
Pinalitan si Antiporda noong nakaraaang taon ni Acting Administrator Eduardo Guillen.
“In case he is, by this time, separated from the service, he shall pay a fine, in lieu of suspension, in the amount equivalent to his salary for one year as acting administrator of NIA,” ayon sa Office of the Ombudsman.
Ayon sa Commission on Audit’s Reports on Salaries and Allowances 2022, ang gross compensation ni Antiporda bilang administrator at vice chair ng NIA board of directors ay P2,445,876.12.
Inaksiyunan ng Ombudsman ang reklamong isinampa ng mga opisyal at miyembro ng NIA Employees Association of the Philippines kabilang si lawyer Lloyd Alain Cudal at Michelle Gonzalez Raymundo.
Inakusahan ng mga ito si Antiporda ng ‘conduct prejudicial to the best interest of the service, grave misconduct, harassment, oppression and ignorance of the law.’
Isa sa mga inireklamo kay Antiporda ay ang hindi makatarungang pagsibak at pagbalasa sa ilang opisyal.
Dinipensahan naman ni Antiporda ang alegasyon at sinabing bahagi ito ng smear campaign laban sa kanya.
“Respondent Antiporda’s acts failed to live up to the high standards required of a government employee,” ayon sa desisyon ng Ombudsman.
