MATAPOS patawan ng anim na buwang preventive suspension, ibinalik ng Malacañang sa pwesto si Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) Chairperson Monalisa Dimalanta.
Sa kalatas ng Palasyo, ibinalik sa pwesto si Dimalanta bunsod ng pagbawi ng Office of the Ombudsman sa inilabas na preventive suspension order.
Sa isang memorandum, inutos na rin ni Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin ang agarang reinstatement ni Dimalanta bilang Chairperson at Chief Executive Officer (CEO) ng ERC.
Si Dimalanta ay isinailalim sa six-month suspension without pay noong nakaraang Setyembre para bigyang-daan ang imbestigasyon sa paratang na kalakip ng reklamong inihain ng National Association of Electricity Consumers for Reforms Inc (Nasecore).
Base sa reklamo ng Nasecore, hinayaan di umano ni Dimalanta ang Manila Electric Company (Meralco) na bumili ng kuryente sa Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) at ipasa sa mga consumer ang bayarin kahit walang basbas ng ERC.
Para sa Nasecore, isang malinaw na paglabag sa Electric Power Industry Reform Act (EPIRA) ang inasal ni Dimalanta.
“After a thorough evaluation of the present case records, this Office finds that the ground which justifies the continued imposition of preventive suspension no longer exists. Therefore, the preventive suspension is no longer necessary,” saad sa atas ng Ombudsman noong Oktubre 22.
