BUONG kumpyasang nagpahayag ng kahandaan sa nalalapit na pagsisimula ng pagdinig ng senado sa kasong kinakaharap ni Vice President Sara Duterte ang House prosecution panel
“We are very much ready. As a matter of fact, 19th Congress pa tayo naghahanda, and I can honestly tell the Filipino people, the House prosecutors and the private prosecutors are all ready as we start this impeachment trial this coming July 6,” wika ni lead prosecutor Gerville Luistro sa isang panayam kasunong ng ginanap na Mass for Truth, Justice, and Accountability na inorganisa ng Clergy for Good Governance sa Chapel of the Nativity of the Immaculate Conception Cathedral sa Cubao, Quezon City.
Ayon kay Luistro, sa pagbubukas ng paglilitis inaasahan diringgin ng Senate impeachment court ang opening statements ng prosekusyon at depensa at ang pagresolba sa ilang nakabinbing mosyon.
Sa panig ni Private prosecutor Atty. Lorna Kapunan, sinabi niyang sa kanilang panig ay mayroon silang 57 witnesses, kumpara sa mahigit sa 20 lamang ng depensa
Dagdag niya, ang article of impeachment na may kinalaman sa banta ni Duterte na ipapatay sina Ferdinand Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos at former Speaker Martin Romualdez, ang unang ilalatag sa Senate court.
Kinumpirma rin ni Kapunan na naisumite na ng prosekusyon ang komento sa pre-trial order subalit tumanggi siyang magbigay ng detalye hinggil sa nilalaman nito.
“We filed our comment na pero I cannot disclose the gist of our comments now. Hintayin natin ang impeachment court na mag-order o mag-comment sa comment namin,”
