MABABAW at walang-saysay ang pagtanggi ni Vice President Sara Duterte sa alegasyon hinggil sa umano’y pagmamay-ari ng franchise ng ilang sikat na fast-food chain. Ayon kay House lead prosecutor at Batangas Rep. Gerville Luistro, mismong ang bise presidente ang umamin sa sinumpaang Statements of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALNs) siya’y shareholder ng GenCorp Industries Inc., na nag-o-operate ng limang branches ng Jollibee, na pawang nasa Davao City. “I wish to reiterate the jurisprudence, which I shared already before the honorable impeachment court, that the court gives more weight to admissions made by a public official. Ito ay kinatigan ng korte, ang sariling admission na ginawa ng public official,” wika ni Luistro. “And as a matter of fact, it throws to the public official to show that that admission is a mistake and as far as we can remember, never pa niya (Duterte) dinispute yung SALN na yun. Never pa niya dinispute na shareholder talaga siya ng GenCorp Industries Incorporated,” dagdag ng Batangas lady lawmaker. Sa mga nagdaang pagdinig ng Senate impeachment court, ipinrisinta ng prosekusyon ang SALN ng pangalawang pangulo para sa taong 2022 at 2023 kung saan malinaw na nakatala ang pagkakaroon ng shares of stocks ni Duterte sa GenCorp., Kabilang rin sa mga nabunyag sa pagbusisi ng business records ni Duterte ang mga umano’y pagmamay-aring Jollibee stores sa Centerpoint Plaza (Matina Crossing), Gaisano Mall, Abreeza Mall, Times Square Plaza at Bolton Street- Poblacion District sa Davao City. Para kay Luistro, mas mabuting sagutin mismo ng bise presidente ang sariling deklarasyon sa isinumiteng SALN. “I think she needs to address squarely her own admission in the SALN. Yung SALN na yun, hindi naman prosecution ang gumawa, it was the respondent’s own admission under oath and it was her own submission as well.
