MALAKAS na, mas pinalakas pa – paglalarawan sa Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD) matapos madagdagan ng tatlo ang miyembro sa pagsapi ng tatlong kongresista mula sa Visayas region.
Sa pinakahuling bilang ni House Speaker Martin Romualdez, pumalo na sa 97 ang kasapi ng Lakas-CMD sa Kamara de Representantes sa pagsanib at pormal na panunumpa nina Leyte 5th District Rep. Carl Nicolas C. Cari, Samar 2nd District Rep. Reynolds Michael Tan, at Cebu 1st District Rep. Rhea Mae Gullas.
Sa kanyang mensahe matapos ang simpleng seremonya sa Social Hall ng Speaker’s Office sa Batasan Complex, ipinaabot ni Romualdez ang mainit at malugod na pagtanggap sa mga bagong miyembro ng itinuturing na pinakamalaking partido sa Kamara.
“With your wealth of experience, dedication to public service, and unwavering principles, I am confident that your presence will further strengthen our ranks and contribute significantly to our shared vision of progress and unity,” pahayag pa ng House Speaker.
“Your decision to align with Lakas-CMD underscores the party’s steadfast commitment to championing the interests and aspirations of the Filipino people,” dugtong pa niya.
Nabatid na si Cari ay mula sa Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban), habang sina Tan at Gullas ay kapwa mula sa Nacionalista Party (NP).
Ang nasabing okasyon ay sinaksihan nina House Majority Leader Manuel Jose “Mannix Dalipe” at Pampanga 2nd District Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
Samantala, sinabi ni Speaker Romualdez na siya ay nagagalak sa matibay na pagkakaisa at samahan sa Lakas-CMD habang patuloy na hinaharap ang mga hamon at oportunidad ng bansa.
“Together, we will work tirelessly with the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. to address the pressing issues confronting our country and to fulfill our mandate of serving the Filipino people with integrity, compassion, and excellence,” pahabol ng Leyte lawmaker.
