BILANG bahagi ng paghahanda sa napipintong pagsisimula ng impeachment trial kay Vice President Sara Duterte, pormal na hiniling ng Kamara sa Senado ang paglalaan ng isang silid na magsisilbing tanggapan ng House prosecution panel.
Bukod sa opisina, binigyang diin ni House Secretary General Reginald Velasco ang pagkakaroon ng holding area ng House prosecutors at House Secretariat Support Group (SSG) habang isinasagawa ang pagdinig na bahagi ng proseso para sa pagpapatalsik sa pangalawang pangulo.
“On behalf of the House of Representatives Public Prosecution Panel, may I humbly request the assignment of a room in the Senate that will be utilized as a work and holding area for the Public Prosecutors and the House of Representatives Secretariat Support Group (SSG) for the duration of the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Z. Duterte,” saad sa isang bahagi ng liham ni Velasco sa Senado.
Dagdag pa ni Velasco, nais nilang makita ang itatalagang opisina upang matiyak na akma ito sa pangangailangan ng prosekusyon.
“We request that we be allowed to conduct an ocular inspection on March 11, 2025, of the room to be assigned to determine how it will be set up to provide a comfortable and convenient working environment for the Public Prosecutors and the SSG,” saad niya.
Samantala, kinumpirma rin ni House Speaker Martin Romualdez ang pagtanggap ng isang liham mula kay Escudero noong Pebrero 24 na may kaugnayan sa verified impeachment complaint at sa paghahanda ng Senado para sa paglilitis.
“In line with established procedures, I have forwarded your letter to the House prosecution panel for their appropriate comment and action,” ayon kay Romualdez sa isang liham na may petsang Marso 3.
“The House of Representatives trusts that the proceedings will be conducted with fairness, impartiality, and strict adherence to the provisions of the Constitution,” pahayag niya.
Binigyang-diin rin ng lider ng Kamara ang kahalagahan ng maayos na ugnayan sa pagitan ng dalawang kapulungan ng Kongreso upang matiyak ang isang maayos at transparent na proseso ng impeachment.
“We appreciate your commitment to ensuring an orderly and transparent process and will remain in coordination as we fulfill our respective mandates,” dagdag niya.
