MARIING kinastigo ni House Committee on Human Rights at impeachment endorser Manila Rep. Bienvenido “Benny” Abante Jr. ang aniya’y pawang kasinungalingan at panlolokong ginagawa ni Atty. Salvador Paolo Panelo Jr. sa mamamayang Pilipino. Partikular na tinuligsa ni Abante ang sinabi ng tagapagsalita ni Vice President Sara Duterte na mahahatulang nagkasala ang huli na wala namang umanong sapat na ebidensiya o labag ito sa Konstitusyon. “The statement of Atty. Paolo Panelo saying that if the vice president will be convicted, that it will not be according to the Constitution, smacks of lies and deceit to the Filipino people because voluminous evidence has been revealed by the prosecution team, especially the unexplained wealth,” mariing sabi ng House panel chief. “It’s not an if, but it is a surety, according to the constitution that VP Sara will be convicted,” dagdag niya. Ayon kay Abante, mayroong naiprisintang matibay ng mga ebidensiya at testigo ang prosekusyon laban sa bise presidente, partikular sa alegasyon ng “unexplained wealth”, na labis na kapani-paniwala at bigong masalag ng defense counsel ng nasasakdal. Naniniwala ang Manila solon na ang taktika ng panig ni Duterte, matapos ang presentasyon ng Article II ng impeachment case, ay balewalain ang mga ebidensiya at testigo kabilang na ang nalantad na financial records ng nasasakdal.
