WAGI ang mga Pinoy! Ganito ang paglalarawan ni House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez sa inaasahang economic dividends na bunga ng makasaysayang trilateral summit sa hanay ng tatlong prominenteng Pangulo sa Washington DC sa Abril 11.
Bukod sa malaking bentahe sa ekonomiya, kumbinsido rin ni Romualdez na magbibigay-daan ang talakayan nina US President Joe Biden, Japan Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, at Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. sa kabi-kabilang benepisyong magdadala ng negosyo at trabaho para sa mga Pilipino.
Para sa lider ng Kamara, isa rin malaking hakbang ang kauna-unahang pagpupulong ng tatlong lider tungo sa mas malalim na economic cooperation, gayundin ang pagpapalakas ng peace and stability sa Indo-Pacific region, at kooperasyon sa iba pang larangan para na rin sa kapakinabangan ng bawat isa.
“Economic cooperation lies at the heart of this trilateral meeting, with discussions aimed at enhancing trade, investment, and development opportunities among our nations. Our country’s deeper economic integration with the United States and Japan will undoubtedly benefit our people in terms of jobs and livelihood opportunities and contribute to regional prosperity,” saad sa pahayag ni Romualdez.
Ayon punong mambabatas ng Kamara, ang historic trilateral meeting ay patunay sa malaking papel na ginagampanan ng Pilipinas bilang isa sa mahalagang katuwang ng world superpowers na Amerika at bansang Hapon.
“As nations with strategic interests in the Indo-Pacific, our collaboration is essential in addressing common challenges and advancing mutual interests,” diin ng lider ng 300-plus-strong House of Representatives.
Aniya, ang bansa ay nasa pagitan ng geopolitical dynamics ng Indo-Pacific region, at ang pagsama ni Marcos sa naturang pulong ay mahalaga hindi lamang sa pagsusulong ng interes ng bansa bagkus maging ng nagkakaisang interes ng international community.
“President Marcos, Jr.’s engagement with President Biden and Prime Minister Kishida underscores our nation’s commitment to upholding the principles of freedom, democracy, and the rule of law. It is also a tacit recognition of his leadership and his foreign policy of being a friend to all and enemy to none,” dugtong pa niya.
“By strengthening our partnerships with like-minded nations, we can address security challenges effectively and promote peace and stability across the region,” aniya pa.
