IBINIDA ni Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez ang bentahe ng working visit sa Germany at state visit naman sa Czech Republic ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
Sa isang pahayag kabilang sa tinukoy ni Romualdez na mabuting dulot ng pakikipagpulong ng Pangulo sa dalawang nabanggit na estado ang ibayong papagpapalakas ng ugnayang pangkabuhayan.
Makatutulong din aniya ang dalawang magkasunod na foreign trips ng Punong Ehekutibo sa pagsusulong ng interes ng bansa sa gitna ng lumalalang tensiyon sa West Philippine Sea (WPS).
“These visits would serve to bolster bilateral relations, enhance economic cooperation, and reinforce the Philippines’ standing in the international community. Amidst complex geopolitical challenges, fostering strong alliances with nations sharing similar values is imperative for safeguarding our sovereignty and territorial integrity,” wika pa ni Romualdez.
“In the face of increasing assertiveness in the West Philippine Sea, adherence to international law is crucial for maintaining peace and stability in the region,” dagdag pa niya kung saan ang House Speaker ay bahagi ng official delegation ni Pangulong Marcos sa pagbisita sa Germany at Czech Republic.
Paglalahad ng lider-kongresista, ilalatag din ni Marcos ang hirit na palakasin ang alyansa sa iba pang foreign states na kumikilala at nagnanais na masunod ang rules-based international order.
“During the back-to-back visit to Germany and Czech Republic, President Marcos is also expected to seek stronger bilateral relations with the two countries and expand economic cooperation for more mutually beneficial trade and investment opportunities,” sabi pa ng Leyte lawmaker.
Pagtitiyak ni Romualdez, lubos na sinusuportahan ng Kamara ang diplomatic initiatives ng Pangulong para mapatatag at mapalakas ang interes ng Pilipinas sa global stage.
“We, at the House of Representatives, stand solidly behind President Marcos in his pursuit of diplomatic solutions to the West Philippine Sea dispute anchored on the respect for international law and the principles of maritime freedom,” ayon pa kay Speaker Romualdez.
Sa pagpunta ng delegasyon ni Presidente Marcos sa Berlin, inaasahan malalagdaan ang isang Joint Declaration of Intent on Strengthening Maritime Cooperation sa pagitan ng Pilipinas at Germany.
Matatandaan na ang Czech Republic at Germany ay kabilang sa 16 European nations na naglabas ng joint statement noong July 2023 bilang pagsuporta sa Pilipinas sa usapin ng soberanya ng Pilipinas sa West Philippine Sea batay na rin sa 2016 Arbitral Ruling sa The Hague na nagbasura sa pag-angkin ng China sa karagatang pasok sa 200 nautical mile Philippine exclusive economic zone.
