NABULABOG ang dapat sana’y masayang Philippine Vape Festival 2024 sa pagsalakay ng Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) target ang mga vape products na walang internal revenue stamps na patunay na nagbayag na ng buwis sa gobyerno.
Sa pangunguna ni BIR Commissioner Romeo Lumagui Jr., kasama ang BIR Illicit Trade Task Force (ITTF), kumpiskado ang santambak na vape products na tampok sa naturang vape festival na ginanap sa Las Pinas City..
Sa pagsusuri, pawang walang internal revenue stamps ang malaking bahagi ng vape na nasa trade exhibit.
“We have given the vape industry every warning. The BIR will raid all venues with illicit vape, even on weekends or holidays. We will raid festivals. We will raid public markets. We will raid warehouses. You will face criminal charges for tax evasion. The BIR welcomes all informants, private or public, who have information on locations or events with illicit vape. The BIR Illicit Trade Task Force will act on all verified targets” wika ni Lumagui.
Nitong unang bahagi ng buwan, ni-raid ng BIR ang Taytay Tiangge Market dahil sa pagkakaroon ng Flava at iba pang ipinagbabawal na vape.
Sinunod na sinalakay ng BIR ang isang gusali sa Quezon City kung saan nakumpiska ang isang Flava vending machine na accessible umano sa mga menor de edad dahil mayroon gym, dance studio, gymnastics studio, basketball court, cafe & bakery, laundry station, water station, at restaurant ang lugar.
“The illicit vape being displayed in this festival shows the brazen attitude of the vape industry against the proper taxation of vape products. They even organized a festival filled with illicit vape. The full strength of the BIR Illicit Trade Task Force will be deployed against this industry” dagdag ng BIR chief.
