Ebidensya sa mga binawing kaso, di pa rin masasayang

HINDI mawawalan ng saysay ang mga nakalap na ebidensya at testimonya sa tatlong impeachment charges na binawi ng prosekusyon.

Ayon kay Batangas Rep. Gerville Luistro na tumatayong lead prosecutor ng Kamara sa paglilitis ng Senate impeachment court sa mga kasong kinakaharap ni Vice President Sara Duterte, malaking bentahe ang mga naturang ebidensya at testimonya sa sandaling itulak nbg Office of the Ombudsman ang pagsasampa ng kasong kriminal laban sa pangalawang pangulo.

“We have already withdrawn the three articles of impeachment; that includes confidential funds, bribery, and grave threats, and as part of our appeal to the public, huwag tayo manghinayang because these articles are not gone,” wika ni Luistro. 

Katunayan aniya, hinihintay na lang ng prosekusyon magpadala ng subpoena ang Office of the Ombudsman, kasabay ng paghahayag ng kahandaan isalin sa tanod-bayan ang mga nakalap ng ebidensya, gayundin ang testimonya ng mga prosecution witnesses.

Samantala, patuloy ang pagdinig ng Quezon City Regional Trial Court sa kasong grave threat na inihain laban kay Duterte kaugnay ng mga umano’y pagbabanta sa buhay nina Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, at former House Speaker Martin Romualdez.

Ani Luistro, posible rin imbestigahan ng Ombudsman ang akusasyon ng maling panggamit ni Duterte ng nasa P612.5 confidential funds at ang panunuhol sa ilang opisyal ng Department of Education (DepEd).

“We have already expressed our willingness to respond to the request of the Ombudsman, but I think it will be best if we wait for the subpoena issued by the ombudsman. And gladly, we will immediately turn over the pieces of evidence for graft and bribery to the Office of the Ombudsman,” paglalahad ng lead prosecutor.

“Part ito ng accountability mechanism, when we say transparency and accountability, it does not pertain only to the impeachment process; it includes the proceeding before the Ombudsman,” dagdag niya.

Aminado si Luistro na inaantabayan ng prosekusyon sa pagbusisi ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) sa umano’y mga ari-arian ng bise presidente at mister na si Atty. Manases Carpio.

Bagamat hindi na magagamit sa Senate impeachment court ang magiging resulta ng nasabing imbestigasyon, sinabi ng mambabatas na maaaring maging batayan din ito sa pagsasampa ng kasong kriminal kontra VP Sara at asawang si Atty. Mans Carpio.
