MAGKAIBA man ang paraang isinusulong na paraan para amyendahan ang Saligang Batas, kumbinsido naman ang lider ng Kamara na malaking bentahe ang panukalang Constituent Assembly na tinutulak ng Senado.
Para kay House Speaker Martin Romualdez, isang malaking hakbang tungo sa landas ng Charter Change ang Resolution of Both House No. 6 na aniya’y patunay na napapanahon na ang pagbabago sa 1987 Constitution.
“As Speaker of the House of Representatives, I would like to express my unwavering support for the Senate’s initiative to file a Resolution of Both Houses of Congress,” saad sa isang bahagi ng pahayag mula sa tanggapan ni Romualdez.
“This resolution using the mode of Constituent Assembly is a decisive step towards amending the 1987 Constitution, particularly in terms of relaxing the economic provisions that currently restrict the entry of foreign direct investments into the Philippines,” dagdag ng lider-kongresista.
Paliwanag ng kinatawan ng Leyte sa Kamara, mahalaga at makabuluhan na marebisa ang Konstitusyon partikular sa layuning makasabay ang Pilipinas sa pagbabago ng global economic landscape.
Ani Speaker Romualdez, ang pagbabagong ay kailangan sa hangaring itulak pataas ang antas ng ekonomiya ng bansa.
“The move to amend the Constitution through a Constituent Assembly underscores our commitment to a democratic and participatory process. It reflects our collective resolve to address the long-standing barriers that have, to some extent, hindered our nation’s progress,” wika pa ng Leyte lawmaker.
“Moreover, the synergy between the Senate and the House in passing this Resolution will send a strong signal of unity and purpose,” aniya pa.
“Their efforts, born out of a necessity due to previous unsuccessful attempts at amending the Constitution through Congress, highlight the urgent need for these reforms.”
“We recognize that amending the Constitution is a significant and sensitive endeavor. It requires not only the collective will of Congress but also the support and understanding of the Filipino people. We are committed to ensuring that this process is transparent, inclusive, and reflective of the aspirations of our citizens,” dagdag pa ni Romualdez kasabay ng pahiwatig ng kahandaan ng Kamara makipag-usap at makipag tulungan para magawa ang mga kinakailangang pagbabago sa Konstitusyon.
