WALA na sa plano ng House prosecution panel isalang si dating Department of Education (DepEd) special disbursing officer (SDO) Edward Fajarda bilang testigo sa impeachment trial ni Vice President Sara Duterte.

Ayon kay private prosecutor Reynaldo Robles, isinaalang-alang ng lupon ng tagausig ang kondisyon ni Fajarda na nananatiling nakaratay matapos tamaan ng “stroke.”

“In view of the latest medical update and the confirmation by the doctors of the Senate, as a humanitarian consideration, we are going to dispense with the testimony of the witness and we wish him well,” ani Robles.

Una nang inihayag ni Senate Presiding Officer Francis Escudero na kailangan ni Fajarda ng 30 araw para makarekober sa stroke batay sa rekomendasyon ng mga doktor ng Senado – bagay na sinang-ayunan ng prosekusyon kasabay ng kahilingan sa korte na bawiin ang subpoena para sa dating DepEd official.

“Having withdrawn the request for subpoena for Mr. Edward Fajarda, the presiding officer hereby orders the recall of the subpoena issued to him,” ani Escudero.
