KAPWA nangako ang pamunuan ng Senado at Kamara na wawakasan ang hidwaan kasabay ng pagtitiyak na tututukan ang ang legislative agenda ng administrasyon.
Sa isang pulong na naganap sa Palasyo, kapwa sumang-ayon sina House Speaker Martin Romualdez at Senate President Francis Escudero, kasama ang iba pang ranking official’s ng dalawang kapulungan para sa anila’y kolaborasyon ng dalawang mataas at mababang kapulungan ng kongreso.
Para kay Romualdez, makasaysayan ang paghaharap ng mga lider ng Senado at Kamara para sa pagtataguyod ng mas matibay na pagkakaisa para sa layunin tugunan ang mga hamon na kinakaharap ng bansa at para mabigyan ng magandang kinabukasan ang mga Pilipino.
“This meeting symbolizes a renewed and reinvigorated partnership between the House of Representatives and the Senate under the leadership of Senate President Escudero,” wika ng lider ng Kamara.
Ang nasabing pulong ay nagsisilbing paunang tagpo para sa gaganaping Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC) meeting sa Hunyo 25.
“Together, we are committed to working hand-in-hand to pass key legislation that will significantly benefit the Filipino people,” dagdag pa ni Romualdez.
Nakasama ng dalawa sa pagpupulong sina Senate Majority Leader Francis Tolentino, House Majority Leader Manuel Jose Dalipe, Senior Deputy Speaker Aurelio Gonzales Jr., Deputy Speaker David Suarez, House Committee on Appropriations Chairman Zaldy Co, Presidential Legislative Liaison Office (PLLO) Sec. Mark Llandro Mendoza, Undersecretary Adrian Carlos Bersamin of the Office of the Executive Secretary, House Secretary General Reginald Velasco, Deputy Secretary General Jennifer Baquiran, Deputy Secretary General Robert David Amorin, Head Executive Assistant Director V Atty. Muel Romero, Senate Sec. Renato Bantug, Deputy Secretary Atty. Mavic Garcia, at Atty. Roland Tan na tumatayong chief of staff ni Senate President Escudero.
Sa ginanap na talakayan, inulit nina Speaker Romualdez at Senate President Escudero ang kanilang dedikasyon itaguyod ang legislative agenda ni Pangulong Marcos at bigyang prayoridad ang mga panukala na maka pagpapaganda sa buhay ng mga Pilipino.
Binigyan-diin ng House Speaker ang kahalagahan pagtibayin ang mga panukala at ang mabilis at epektibong implementasyon.
“Our joint efforts with the Senate reflect our collective resolve to push forward the President’s priority measures,” sabi ni Romualdez matapos na mapag-usapan ang legislative calendar ng 3rd Regular Session ng 19th Congress.
“With Senate President Escudero’s dynamic leadership, I am confident that we can expedite the legislative process, ensuring that the benefits reach our people without delay,” dagdag pa ni Romualdez.
Nabigyan din umano ng pansin sa pagpupulong ang pagbibigay ng prayoridad na maaprubahan ang panukalang amyendahan ang Rice Tariffication Law sa pagnanais mapababa ang presyo ng bigas at maitaas ang kita ng mga magsasaka.
“Amending the Rice Tariffication Law is a crucial step towards ensuring food security and economic stability for our farmers,” giit ng lider-kongresista.
“We are committed to making quality rice affordable for all Filipinos while boosting the livelihoods of our local farmers,” aniya pa.
Pinag-usapan din sa pagpupulong ang mga panukalang nakabinbin sa magkabilang panig ng Kongreso.
“The focus remains on the twenty LEDAC priority measures targeted for approval by June 2024, with significant advancements already made, including ten measures approved by both Houses, one enacted into law, and several others in various stages of the legislative process,” pahabol ni Romualdez.
