SA gitna ng pagbagsak ng integridad ng pamahalaan, higit na angkop magbitiw lahat ng opisyal ng pamahalaan upang bigyang-daan ang isang snap election, ayon kay Senator Alan Peter Cayetano.
“I dare say, now more than ever in our history, politicians are suspects! People have lost trust in government and government officials. Honestly, who can blame them?” wika ni Cayetano sa kanyang Facebook post.
“So here’s a thought: What if we all just resign and allow a Snap Election. From The President, Vice President, Senate, and Congress. With One Important Addition – No Incumbent From The Above Can Run For 1 Election Cycle,” dagdag niya.
Gayunpaman, hindi na umano dapat pang isali sa mass resignation ang mga local officials tulad na gobernador, alkalde at mga barangay chairman.
“No drama, no excuses, no recycling. Just a clean slate for the Filipino people. A turning point leading to ReNewal and ReVival.”
Sa halip na People Power dapat aniya magpamalas ng sakripisyo ang mga tinawag niyang “public servants.”
Hinimok rin ng senador ang mga kapwa mambabatas na ikonsidera ang kanyang mungkahi bilang hakbang tungo sa tunay na pagbabago.
