“For the past two weeks, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has been closely monitoring the illegal activities of Chinese Coast Guard vessel 5901 near the Zambales coast. Today, this vessel has been reported to be operating unlawfully at a distance of 60-70 nautical miles from Philippine territory,” wika ni Commodore Jay Tarriela na tumatayong sa PCG Spokesperson for West Philippine Sea.
“Despite multiple radio communications from the PCG vessel, BRP Gabriela Silang (OPV-8301), which has challenged the Chinese vessel of its lack of legal authority to conduct patrols in the Philippine Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), the Chinese vessel has continued its illegal operations,” dagdag pa niya.
