TINIYAK ng kampo ni former Speaker Martin Romualdez na haharapin ng mambabatas ang lahat ng bintang sa tama at legal na paraan, tulad din ng ibinibigay na proseso sa bawat Pilipino. Ito ang inihayag ni Atty, Ade Fajardo, ang legal counsel at spokesman ng Leyte congressman kasunod nang paghahain ng Office of the Ombudsman ng kaso laban kay Romualdez sa Sandiganbayan. “We respect the courts and the legal process. Representative Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez will face the allegations against him in accordance with law,” ang sabi pa ni Fajardo. “We recognize the public interest surrounding this case. But ultimately, criminal liability must be determined by the evidence presented in court, under the rules and safeguards of our justice system,” dagdag niya. Binigyan-diin ni Fajardo na hindi humihingi ng special treatment si Romualdez sa pagtugon sa mga inaakusa sa kanya. “Representative Romualdez asks for no special treatment. He asks only for the same due process and fair hearing guaranteed to every Filipino,” ayon pa sa legal counsel-spokesman. “Katotohanan, ebidensya, at patas na proseso ang dapat manaig,” tigas na sabi din ni Fajardo.
