PARA sa kampo ni dating House Speaker Martin Romualdez, higit na angkop irespeto ang proseso ng Office of the Ombudsman.
Sa isang katalas, nagpahayag ng kahandaan humarap at makipagtungan sa Office of the Ombudsman kaugnay ng mga ulat hinggil sa napipintong pagsasampa ng kasong plunder kaugnay ng tinaguriang flood control scandal.
Partikular na tinukoy ni Atty. Ade Fajardo na tumatayong abogado at tagapagsalita ng dating lider ng Kamara, ang mga ulat sa umano’y hinahandang kaso ang Ombudsman laban kay Romualdez.
“To be clear, this refers only to a reported preparation of a complaint—there is no filed case, no finding of probable cause, and no determination of liability at this time,” wika ni Fajardo.
“We respect the processes of the Office of the Ombudsman and will fully cooperate if and when a formal proceeding is initiated. We trust that the Ombudsman will fully adhere to the circular that he instituted and signed as then Secretary of the Department of Justice, that DOJ prosecutors should only pursue cases with “reasonable certainty of conviction,”dagdag ng abogadong tagapagsalita ni Romualdez.
Giit ni Fajardo, wala pa rin aniyang anumang ebidensya na nag-uugnay kay Romualdez sa alinmang sa sinasabing ghost at substandard flood-control projects.
“We remain confident that these matters will be resolved based on evidence and due process—not politics or speculation.”
