NAGBABALA si House prosecutor at Bicol Saro partylist Rep. Terry Ridon na maaaring sumabit sa procurement law ang Senado kung pagbibigyan ang hirit na exclusive catering services ni Vice President Sara Duterte.
“I think the OVP (Office of the Vice President) is basically opening up the Senate for a procurement case. Parang ang gusto nila, sarili nilang caterer, pero ang taga bayad ibang tao,” bulalas pa ni Ridon sa isang online press briefing.
Ayon kay Ridon, na tumatayong chairman ng House Committee on Public Accounts, ang hinihingi ng bise presidente ay higit pa sa isang kahilingan.
“I think it looked like a demand from the OVP, from the Vice President herself, for the Senate to actually pay for the food expenses of the defense panel,” anang Bicol Saro partylist solon.
Giit ni Ridon, walang anumang obligasyon ang impeachment court para sagutin ang gastos sa pagkain at inumin ng defense team.
“Wala hong obligasyon ang Senate Impeachment Court para bayaran ang pagkain ng kahit sinuman, whether ng prosecution or ng defense,” aniya.
“May sarili pong mga opisina ang defense saka prosecution. ’Yung defense, meron silang OVP general budget. Yung House, meron pong general House budget para dito sa paglalatag ng impeachment trial na ito,” dagdag ni Ridon.
Subalit nasa Senado pa rin naman umano ang kapasyahan sa hinihingi ng impeached official.
