SA loob umano ng 16 na taon ng panunungkulan sa gobyerno, tumaas ng 378 percent ang yaman ni Vice President Sara Duterte, batay sa mga isinumiteng Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALN) mula taong 2008 hanggang 2024.
Base sa datos na inilantad ni House Public Accounts Committee chair at Bicol Saro partylist Rep. Terry Ridon sa SALN ng bise presidente, mistulang palaisipan kung paano lumobo sa P88.55 milyon sa 2024 networth ni Sara na meron lamang aniyang P18.493 milyon noong 2008.
Ginawa ni Ridon ang pag bulatlat sa nasabing mga dokumento sa pagdinig ng House Committee on Justice, na pinamumunuan ni Batangas 2nd District Rep. Gerville “Jinky Bitrics” Luistro, sa impeachment charges na kinakaharap ni Duterte.
“At this point… I will read into the record, Madam Chair, the totality of the net worth of the Vice President from 2008. 2008, filed December 31, 2008, net worth, P18,493,617. SALN 2009, net worth, P18,000,281,” ayoon sa Bicol Saro partylist solon.
Kasunod nito ay inatasan ni Luistro ang committee secretariat na i-flash sa video screen ang 2023 at 2024 SALNs ng pangalawang pangulo.
“Ayan, net worth po for 2023, P77,508,841 pesos. This is for 2023, Madam Chair. Can we flash 2024? P88,512,370.22. So we are submitting for the record because these are public records which our colleagues had actually asked for,” bulalas naman ni Ridon habang nakaturo sa video wall.
“And if we will base it from the original SALN noong 2008 to the 2024 SALN, Madam Chair, it is an increase.. So, we leave it to the Justice Committee as to whether or not we would consider it as a case of unexplained wealth, which is essentially part of the impeachment offenses we would want to proceed with at this point,” dugtong ng kongresista.
Si Duterte ay naupong alkalde ng Davao City noong 2007 hanggang June 30, 2010 at nahalal na bise presidente noong 2022.
Ayon kay Ridon, maihahalintulad sa impeachment proceedings kay late Supreme Court Chief Justice Renato Corona ang kinakaharap na mga sumbong ng pangalawang pangulo dahil kapwa may kinalaman sa ilegal na pagkamal ng yaman.
“We are stating it for the record because this is the precise wording of the Corona articles of impeachment which had proceeded to the Senate and had resulted in a conviction. So, I think it is very clear that this is the process that we have to undertake and what the endorsers would want to undertake during the process of full proceedings can be undertaken,” pahabol pa niya.
