MATAPOS ituga ng mga pinaniniwalaang galamay sa labas ng tanggapan, agad na sinibak sa pwesto ang district chief ng Land Transportation Office (LTO) sa Novaliches, Quezon City.
Sa isang pulong balitaan, hayagang kinumpirma ni LTO chief Jay Art Tugade ang pagsibak kay Joseph Paul Petilla, ang hepe ng LTO Novaliches District.
Bago pa man sinuspinde si Petilla, inaresto ng mga operatiba ng Criminal Investigation Group (CIDG) ang limang di umano’y ‘fixers’ na pakikipag transaksyon sa mga aplikante ng lisensya at maging sa mga motoristang nagpaparehistro ng sasakyan sa naturang tanggapan ng kawanihan.
“The chief of office will be investigated… If he is found to be in connivance with the fixers, the appropriate criminal charges will be filed against him and the other employees,” ani Tugade.
Kwento pa ni Tugade, kinumpronta na niya si Petilla hinggil sa lantarang operasyon ng mga fixer sa naturang distrito.
Sagot di umano sa kanya ni Petilla — nasa labas naman ng bakuran ng LTO District Office ang mga fixers.
“We are following the principle of command responsibility. The public should rest assured that I will hold the chief of that office accountable for the fixers caught just outside the office,” saad ni Tugade.
Araw ng Martes nang matimbog ng CIDG ang mga fixers sa aktong pagtanggap ng P10,500 mula sa isang undercover operative na nag-aaplay ng Student Permit sa LTO Novaliches District Office.
