NASA 25 pang kongresista ang nagpahayag ng pagnanais na maging endorser din o sumuporta sa paghahain ng ikaapat na impeachment complaint para patalsikin sa pwesto si Vice President Sara Duterte.
Sa isang panayam, tahasang inihayag nina Deputy Majority Leader Lorenz Defensor, Assistant Majority Leader Zia Alonto Adiong, at 1-RIDER Partylist Rep. Rodrigo Gutierrez na kinatiganng tinaguriang ‘supermajority’ ang pagsasakdal sa bise-presidente matapos ang konsultasyon ng mga mambabatas sa kani-kanilang partido.
Higit pa sa sentimyento ng partido, sapat at matibay na ebidensya ang punong dahilan sa likod ng suporta sa impeachment complaint laban kay VP Sara.
Paliwanag ni Adiong, may dahilan kung bakit hindi nagawang pumirma ng 25 kongresista sa impeachment complaint na naglalayong sipain sa pwesto si Duterte.
“They’re either on official trips or busy attending to the needs of the people in their respective congressional districts.”
Ayon sa Lanao del Sur solon, kung pahihintulutan pagkakaroon ng karagdagang congressmen complainant, aabot sa 240 (katumbas ng 75 percent ng Kamara) ang bilang ng mga mambabatas na nagsusulong sa reklamo laban kay Duterte.
Nilinaw naman ni Gutierrez na hindi minadali ang huling impeachment charge dahil bukod sa mayroon nang naunang tatlong kaso ay ilang panahon na rin naman napag-uusapan ang mga akusasyon ipinupukol sa bise-presidente bilang basehan na rin para sipain ito sa posisyon.
“Admittedly, it’s been a long time coming po. We, congressmen, although we’ve talked about impeachment, we’ve already formed opinions from the hearings of the Quad Comm and the Good Government Committees,” paglalahad pa ng 1-Rider partylist lawmaker.
“But the first three (impeachment complaints) did not gather consensus, it did not gather the momentum needed. While most congressmen, especially the members of the Justice Committee, were eagerly awaiting to fulfill our mandate by hearing it, I believe the party leaders have already thought of finding consensus between the three,” dagdag ni Gutierrez.
Sa panig ni Defensor, iginiit niya ang kahalagahan ng party consultations – gaya ng ginawa ng House members mula sa Lakas-CMD, Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP), National Unity Party (NUP), Nationalists People’s Coalition (NPC), Nacionalista Party (NP), Laban ng Demokratikong Pilipino (LDP), other parties, at the Partylist Coalition Foundation, Inc. (PCFI) sa pagpapatibay sa impeachment case.
“There were party consultations and considering that there were three previous impeachment complaints filed, nakabuo ng mas matatag at mas klarong impeachment complaint na nakakuha ng suporta at kumpiyansa ng mga congressman,” paliwanag ng Iloilo congressman.
“That is why with this fourth impeachment complaint, where the evidence is presented in a stronger manner, it gave confidence to more than 200 or 215 congressmen to act as complainants.”
Samantala, iginiit ni Adiong na ang mga mambabatas ay obligadong aksyunan ang impeachment complaints dahil bahagi ito ng kanilang constitutional mandate.
“Simula po nung tumanggap po tayo ng mga complaints, tatlo pong impeachment complaints… wala pong choice ang miyembro ng House of Representatives kundi bigyan pansin itong complaints na ito because it now borders our constitutional mandate,” aniya pa. (ROMEO ALLAN BUTUYAN II)
