PINABULAANAN ng mga mambabatas sa Kamara ang alegasyon hinggil sa umano’y ayudang pangako ng administrasyon sa mga kongresistang lumagda sa impeachment complaint laban kay Vice President Sara Duterte.
“We categorically deny such allegations… This was an independent action. We believe it was done faithfully and truthfully by each member,” wika ni 1-RIDER PartyList Rep. Rodge Gutierrez, na bahagi ng 11-member House prosecution panel.
“They signified their intention and support of the impeachment complaint based on the merits of the case and nothing more,” dagdag pa ng kongresista sa aniya’y paninira at pagpapakalat ng fake news laban sa mga kongresista.
Ayon naman kay Deputy Majority Leader Zia Alonto Adiong, inaasahan na niya ang paglabas ng mga mapanira at maling impormasyon kasunod ng pasya ng mahigit sa 200 mambabatas na sipain sa pwesto ang bise-presidente.
“Nagsimula na po ang smear campaign sa prosesong ito. Wag ho tayong madadala sa ganitong klaseng fake news kasi ito ay paraan para ilihis kung ano po ang talagang merits nitong proseso,” panawagan ni Adiong sa publiko.
Binigyan-diin ni Deputy Majority Leader at Iloilo Rep. Lorenz Defensor ang constitutional obligation ng House of Representatives sa pagtugon sa bawat ihahain na impeachment case.
“There certainly will be consequences to every elective official. But if I did not sign in this impeachment complaint and I did not accept the election as prosecutor coming from Iloilo, there will be far bigger and worse consequences if I turn my back on violations of the Constitution and I will not do my constitutional duty to prosecute it,” paliwanag ng ranking House official.
Dugtong dito ni Adiong, seryoso ang mga bintang kay Duterte lalo pa’t bahagi ng reklamo ang pagtataksil sa bayan, maling paggamit ng pondo at maging ang pag-amin mismo ng huli sa utos paslangin sina Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos at Speaker Martin Romualdez.
