KUMBINSIDO si Presidential Legal Counsel at dating Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile na nalinlang lamang ng mga economic managers sa nakalipas na administrasyon si former President Rodrigo Duterte na maglabas ng executive order na nagbigay-daan sa paglaganap ng philippine Offshore Gaming Operations (POGO) sa bansa.
“It was ill-advised. They did not study it well,” wika ni Enrile kasunod ng pagdalo sa pagdinig ng House Committee on Public Order and Safety.
Ipinalabas ni Duterte ang EO 13 noong Pebrero 2, 2017, na nagbibigay ng pahintulot sa operasyon ng POGO sa labas ng mga economic zone.
“My God, POGO was banned by Cambodia, banned by many countries in Central Asia, and we adopted it here. And why is it that until now you have focus in Bamban and Porac and without PAGCOR (Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation) being able to control them? Is that a wise decision? Wise activity?” bulalas ni Enrile.
