KASO NI QUIBOLOY SA DAVAO, INILIPAT SA QUEZON CITY

SA hangaring tiyakin ang patas na paglilitis, naglabas ng direktiba ang Korte Suprema – ilipat sa Quezon City ang dalawang kasong kriminal na isinampa sa Davao laban sa pugante religious leader na si Pastor Apollo Quiboloy.

Sa resolusyon ng Korte Suprema, inayunan ang hiling ni Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla, dahil sa mga pangamba sa impluwensiya ni Quiboloy sa Davao.

Partikular na tinukoy ni Remulla ang posibilidad ng pagkiling ng huwes at pananakot sa hanay ng mga tatayong testigo laban kay Quiboloy.

“This could cause local biases and a strong possibility that witnesses cannot freely testify due to fear and influence of the accused, the court found it prudent and judicious to order the transfer of the cases to Quezon City,” ayon sa Korte Suprema.

Inatasan na rin ang Davao City Regional Trial Court na ipadala ang case files sa Quezon City sa loob ng tatlong araw para agarang masimulan ang pagdinig ng mga kasong kriminal na kinakaharap ni Quiboloy.

“The Court further directed judges in Davao City and in other stations in Mindanao where future related cases involving Quiboloy and his co-accused may be filed to motu proprio order the transmittal of the records to the Office of the Clerk of Court of the RTC, Quezon City and Metropolitan Trial Court, Quezon City, as the case may be,” saad sa huling bahagi ng kalatas ng Korte Suprema
