BILANG bahagi sa pandaigdigang pagdiriwang ng National Women’s Month at isa rin sa priority projects ng administrasyon ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr., inihayag ni Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez ang pagkakaloob ng Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) ng libreng annual mammogram at ultrasound services para sa lahat ng mga kababaihan simula sa buwan ng Hulyo.
Ang pahayag ay ginawa ni Romualdez matapos ang pakikipagpulong sa mga opisyal ng PhilHealth, sa pangunguna ng President at CEO nito na si Emmanuel Ledesma Jr. sa Batasan Complex kahapon.
“I commend PhilHealth for their swift action in responding to our call to provide free mammogram and ultrasound examinations to our women. This initiative reflects the commitment of the administration of President Marcos to prioritize the health and well-being of Filipino women, ensuring access to crucial preventive care,” sabi ni Romualdez said.
“This is the best news we can give to the Filipino women, especially during Women’s Month,” dagdag pa ng lider ng 300-plus strong House of Representatives.
Sa panig ni Ledesma, tiniyak naman ng PhilHealth chief ang katuparan ng binitawang pangako batay na rin sa kahilingan ng House leadership bilang suporta ng programang pangkalusugan ng administrasyong Marcos.
“We will deliver, sir. We will not fail you, we need to deliver. We are really confident that we will be able to fulfill your request,” pagtitiyak pa ng Ledesma kay Romualdez.
Ani Speaker, tiyak na malaking tulong ang free mammogram at ultrasound services na ibibigay ng PhilHealth sa kalusugan at ikabubuti ng mga kababaihang Pilipino.
“Early detection is key in addressing various health concerns, and by removing financial barriers to these essential services, PhilHealth is helping to save lives and promote a healthier future for our women,” pagbibigay-diin pa ni Speaker Romualdez kung saan siya at ang maybahay na si Tingog Partylist Rep. Yedda Marie Romualdez ay itinuturing na personal advocacy ang pagtulong sa mga kababaihan.
Samantala, sinabi ni Speaker Romualdez na sa naturang hudyat ay panimula ng patuloy at matibay na ugnayan ng Kamara at PhilHealth sa pagganap ng nakaatang na responsibilidad – ang pagkakaloob ng mahusay na serbisyong medikal.
“As representatives of the people, we are sensitive to the needs of our constituents, we are sensitive to the needs of our people. Together, through collaborative efforts and initiatives, we can work towards achieving better health outcomes and a brighter future for all Filipinos as envisioned by President Marcos,” pagtatapos ni Romualdez.
