WALANG dahilan para tanggihan ang panawagan ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr., na isantabi muna ang hidwaan sa pagitan ng Senado at Kamara sa gitna ng pagtalakay ng 2026 proposed national budget.
Sa isang kalatas, nagpahayag ng kahandaan si House Speaker Martin Romualdez sa hiling na maging mahinahon sa sandaling sumipa ang pagbusisi ng P6.793-trilyong panukalang budget.
Katunayan aniya, patuloy na makikipagtulungan ang Kamara sa sangay ng ehekutibo sa layuning maging “transparent,” magkaroon ng “accountability” at tiyakin ang kapakinabangan ng mamamayang Pilipino sa 2026 spending plan.
“On behalf of the House of Representatives, I thank President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. for his understanding and his call for calm. We also acknowledge the dedicated work of the Cabinet in preparing the National Expenditure Program,” wika ng lider ng Kamara.
“If our deliberations have caused any discomfort, we ask for understanding. The House’s duty is not to cast blame but to ensure that every peso in the budget is transparent, accountable, and truly for the people,” dugtong niya.
Aniya, gagamitin ng Kamara ang oversight functions na mayroong kaukulang kooperasyon sa Executive branch kung saan batid din umano niya na ang isinusulong na reporma ay dapat magsimula sa kanila.
“We recognize that there are issues that must be addressed, and we begin by putting our own House in order. Walang exempted—kasama kami diyan,” ayon pa sa House Speaker.
“At the same time, we stand firm in our partnership with the Executive, under the leadership of the President, to strengthen the budget process and to make sure that government resources are used wisely and well,” diin pa niya.
Tiniyak naman ni Speaker Romualdez na walang anumang banggaan sa pagitan ng Kamara at Palasyo tungkol sa 2026 national budget, kasabay ng giit na mandato ng dalawang sangay ng gobyerno ang ipaglaban ang inaakalang ikabubuti ng bansa.
