MATAPOS na ideklarang ‘sufficient in grounds’ ang ikatlo at ikaapat na impeachment complaints, itinakda ng House Committee on Justice ang pagsasagawa ng pormal na pagdinig sa reklamong naglalayong patalsikin sa pwesto si Vice President Sara Duterte.
Ayon kay committee chair at Batangas 2nd District Rep. Atty. Gerville “Jinky Bitrics” Luistro, bibigyan ng pagkakataon ang magkabilang panig (akusado at mga nagrereklamo) na maiprinsinta ang mga testigo at ebidensya.
“Now, we proceed to Step 4, that is the hearing proper… the evidence and witnesses which will be presented by both parties during the hearing proper will be part of our consideration in the determination of probable cause in our Step 5,” wika ni Luistro.
Sa kanilang pagtalakay ngayon araw, ipinabatid din ni Luistro ang petsa ng kanilang initial hearings — Marso 25, Abril 14, Abril 22 at Abril 29 ng kasalukuyang taon.
Binigyan-diin ng Batangas solon na ang komite ay binigyan ng basbas ng pamunuan ng Kamara — sa bisa ng House Resolution No. 892 — na magsagawa ng pagdinig kahit walang sesyon.
“The authorization also covers the implementation of protective measures for complainants and witnesses, as provided under Section 8 of the Rules of Procedure in impeachment proceedings,” dugtong ng mambabatas.
Ipinabatid din ni Luistro ang pagtanggap ng komite ng liham ni Akbayan partylist Rep. Chel Diokno na humihiling na magpalabas ng subpoena duces tecum sa mga dokumentong magagamit na ebidensya at matatalakay sa impeachment hearing.
Hirit ni Diokno sa Justice panel. isailalim sa kustodiya ng komite si Ramil Madriaga, na pasok sa kategorya ng “material witness” lalo pa’t nagsilbi umanong ‘bagman’ ni Duterte.
Giit ng Akbayan partylist solon, kailangan matiyak ang seguridad ng naturang testigo at kahandaan o katiyakan makaharap ito sa House impeachment hearing.
