PINANGUNAHAN ni Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Undersecretary for Inclusive-Sustainable Peace and Special Concern (ISP-SC) Alan Tanjusay, kasama si Zamboanga del Sur Governor Victor Yu, ang pamamahagi ng cash aid sa mga dating rebelde at educational assistance sa mga estudyante sa Pagadian City noong Linggo.
Sa pamamagitan ng programang Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) ng DSWD, may 163 dating rebelde ang nakatanggap ng P5,000 bawat isa habang 2,500 estudyante ang nakakuha ng tig-P6,000 na tulong pang-edukasyon.
Ang AICS payout ay hiniling ng pamahalaang panlalawigan ng Zamboanga del Sur, kasabay ng paggunita sa deklarasyon ng insurgency-free province tatlong taon na ang nakaraan.
Bukod kay Governor Yu, kabilang sa mga opisyales na dumalo sa payout ay sina 1st Congressional District Representative Divine Grace Yu, 2nd District Representative Jeyzel Yu, municipal mayors, at provincial board members.
Dumalo rin sa naturang pagtitipon sina Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity Secretary Carlito Galvez, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff Romeo Brawner, Defense Undersecretary Angelito De Leon, regional directors ng iba’t ibang ahensya ng gobyerno gayundin ang mga opisyal ng AFP at Philippine National Police (PNP).
