NIYANIG ng malakas na magnitude 7.4 ang Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur dakong alas-10:37 ng gabi ngayong Sabado, ayon sa Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
Nag-isyu din ang Phivolcs ng tsunami warning matapos ang pagyanig.
“Based on the local tsunami scenario database, it is expected to experience wave heights of more than one meter above the normal tides and may be higher on enclosed bays and straits. Destructive tsunami is expected with life-threatening wave heights,” ayon sa kalatas ng Phivolcs.
“It is forecasted that the first tsunami waves will arrive between 10:37 PM to 11:59 PM, 02 Dec 2023 (PST). These waves may continue for hours,” ayon pa sa Phivolcs.
Inutusan din ng Phivolcs ang mga naninirahan malapit sa dagat ng
Surigao Del Sur at Davao Oriental na agad lumikas dahil sa posibleng tsunami.
