SA bisa ng regional unity rally na inorganisa ng Lakas-CMD at TINGOG partylist, inihayag ng mga pangunahing lider pulitikal at ang mga tinatawag na grassroots leader at volunteer ng Eastern Visayas ang suporta sa Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas senatorial slate ng Marcos administration.
Mismong sina Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (CMD) President at Speaker Martin Romualdez at Tingog Partylist Reps. Yedda K. Romualdez at Jude Acidre ang namuno sa nasabing pagtitipon na ginanap sa Tacloban City.
Dumalo rin dito ang Eastern Visayas provincial governors at mga kongresista, city mayors, municipal mayors at mahigit sa 10,000 grassroots leaders at volunteers mula sa lahat ng anim na lalawigan ng rehiyon.
Ang aktibidad na ito ay itinuturing na hindi pangkaraniwang pagtitipon ng mga political leader mula sa iba’t-ibang partido kung saan nagkakaisang inihayag nila ang pagsusulong sa kandidatura ng admin senatorial bets.
“We speak today not merely as governors, but as stewards of our provinces who know what our people truly need. And what we need are leaders in the Senate who will fight for development in the regions, uphold local voices and ensure that progress is shared across the country,” ang mariing pahayag naman ni Eastern Samar Gov. Ben Evardone, na stalwart ng Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP).
“These are our barangay leaders telling us who they trust. And the answer is clear: they want senators who will partner with them, not leave them behind. Our support for the Alyansa slate is grounded in hope. We will hold these candidates to the same standard of excellent service we ask of ourselves,” dagdag pa ni Evardone.
Sa panig ni Southern Leyte Gov. Damian Mercado, sinabi niyang ang pagtitipon ay hindi lamang isang political event, bagkus ito’y pagpapakita ng paninindigan ng mga lider ng rehiyon na maging katuwang sa ninanais na national transformation.
“Sa Southern Leyte malakas ang Alyansa kasi solid kami doon,” deklara naman ni Mercado na mula sa hanay ng Lakas-CMD.
“The people of Eastern Visayas are no strangers to hardship, that is why the people value leaders who do not just promise but understand and deliver,” paglalahad pa niya.
Samantala, kabilang sa admin senatorial candidates na dumalo ay sina House Majority Leader Erwin Tulfo, Sen. Francis Tolentino, at former Interior Sec. Benhur Abalos; habang si Makati City Mayor Abby Binay ay kinatawan ni Makati City Counciloe Jong Hilario at si Cavite Rep. Lani Mercado-Revilla naman ay siyang humalili sa mister na si reelectionist Senator Bong Revilla.
Ang iba pang kabilang sa Alyansa ng Bagong Pilipinas slate ay sina Sens. Pia Cayetano at Lito Lapid, comebacking lawmakers Panfilo Lacson, Manny Pacquiaoa at Tito Sotto, at House Deputy Speaker Camille Villar. (ROMEO ALLAN BUTUYAN II)
