PARA kay Abra Congressman JB Bernos, gobyerno ang dapat manguna sa pagsusulong ng renewable energy sa bansa.
Bilang pambungad, iminungkahi ni Bernos ang paggamit ng mga solar panel na magbibigay kuryente sa lahat ng gusali at tanggapan ng pamahalaan.
Sa ilalim ng House Bill 3126 (On-Grid Solar Energy Systems bill), partikular na isinusulong ni Bernos ang solar energy system sa lahat ng national at local government-owned buildings.
“On-grid solar energy systems are practical and have an immediate impact not only on electricity cost but also on public sector carbon emissions,” paliwanag ng mambabatas.
“If we are to succeed in the shift towards renewable energy, the government itself should show that RE is a viable and reliable option,” dagdag pa niya.
Nakapaloob din sa panukalang akda ni Bernos tiyaking lahat ng government agencies na 20 percent ng kanilang average monthly utilization (AMU) ay matutugunan ng on-grid solar energy system sa loob ng isang taon — mula sa petsang sinimulan ang paggamit ng alternatibong paraan sa paglikha ng enerhiya.
Sa ikalawang taon naman ng paggamit ng solar energy system, 40 percent ng AMU ang dapat mai-supply nito; 60 percent sa ikatlong taon, 80 percent sa pang-apat na taon at sa panglimang taon naman ay dapat 100 percent dependent na sa system ang government establishment.
Ani Bernos, ang on-grid solar system ay “affordable and feasible RE source as there has been a marked decrease in the cost of solar panel technology in recent years.
“With a typical lifespan of 25 to 30 years, solar panels are a long-term investment that has both environmental and economic benefits,” saad pa ng Abra solon.
Samantala, bukod sa public buildings at offices, hinimok ni Bernos ang mga private household ikonsidera rin ang paggamit ng solar technology
