“THAT is not true. I charge it to fake news,” ang nakangiting tugon ng punong tagausig ng Kamara kaugnay ng viral video na inilabas umano ng kampo ni Vice President Sara Duterte sa kaganapan sa pre-trial conference sa Senado.
“People should become very cautious now when watching from social media. We should be careful in deciphering what is correct and what is false,” wika ni Luistro na tumatayong leader prosecutor ng Kamara para sa nalalapit na impeachment trial laban sa pangalawang pangulo.
Ayon kay Luistro, laging nasa isip niya na bilang bahagi ng prosekusyon ang kinakatawan niya sa impeachment proceedings ay ang interes ng mamamayang Pilipino.
“Hindi po ako papayag na lamunin ng buhay ang laban ng sambayanang Pilipino,” bulalas ng abogadang mambabatas.
Maging si House prosecution legal spokesperson at private prosecutor Benjamin Tolosa Jr., binasura ang pagbibida sa social media ng depensa.
“It’s normal, of course, for parties to claim that they got the upper hand in any particular hearing. But to properly address that, let’s stick to the facts,” pauna ni Tolosa.
“When you say ‘kinain ng kalaban,’ what does that mean? It means someone got an upper hand compared to the other. But that’s impossible. Why? Because the clerk of the impeachment court cannot even make any rulings. So that’s factually impossible,” paliwanag niya.
“What I can say also factually is that we were able to secure or successfully achieve our goal. “What is that? To ensure that the pre-trial would proceed in an expeditious manner,” dagdag ni Tolosa.
Kwento niya, sa simula ay tinangka ng depensa na iparesolba ang isyu ng two-third voting threshold bago umano simulan ang pre-trial, na nasopla naman ni Luistro.
Una nang sinabi ni Luistro maaaring idulog sa Korte Suprema ang usapin tungkol sa pagboto ng senator-judges pero masyado pa aniyang maaga lalo pa’t hindi pa nagsisimula ang paglilitis sa pangalawang pangulo.
