CRISIS PLAN PARA SA NAIPIT NA PINOY OFWS, SISILIPIN NG KAMARA

NAKATAKDANG magsagawa ng pagdinig ang House Committee on Overseas Workers Affairs sa layuning maplantsa ang government contingency measures para protektahan ang Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) sakaling tuluyang sumiklab ang gulo sa Middle East.

Ayon kay KABAYAN partylist Rep. Ron Salo na tumatayong chairman ng nasabing komite, ang gagawin nilang pagtalakay sa ipatutupad na ‘crisis plan’ ng gobyerno ay alinsunod na rin sa direktiba ni Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez, na gustong masiguro ang pagkakaroon ng contingency plan para sa mga Filipino workers sa nasabing rehiyon.

“The safety and security of our kababayans working abroad are of utmost importance, particularly in the Middle East’s uncertain climate. The upcoming briefing is a testament to the government’s proactive stance in ensuring all necessary preparations are undertaken to protect their lives and limbs in the event a war ensues amid the conflict,” wika ng House panel head.

“The committee plans to stress the need for a thorough crisis strategy that includes cooperation across multiple government agencies such as the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), the Department of National Defense (DND), and the Bureau of Immigration (BI),” dagdag pa niya.

Isinusulong din ni Salo ang pagbuo ng matibay ng mekanismo at simpleng kaparaanan para sa agarang pagtugon sa iba’t-ibang pangangailangan ng mga OFW – kabilang ang agaran at ligtas na pagbabalik-Pinas, gayundin ang reintegration program na ipagkakaloob ng pamahalaan.

Nanawagan naman ang veteran lawmaker sa lahat ng OFWs sa Middle East manatiling maingat at maging handa sa anumang kaganapan kasabay ng regular monitoring sa sitwasyon sa kani-kanilang kinaroroonan.

“I implore our OFWs to stay alert, keep abreast of developments, and get in touch with our embassies without delay for any required support or repatriation,” giit pa ni Salo.

Pagtitiyak ng kongresista, kaisa ang KABAYAN partylist sa pagdarasal at panawagan para sa pagpapahupa ng tensyon sa pagitan ng mga magkakalabang bansa at magkaroon ng pangmatagalang kapayapaan at kaayusan para sa lahat.

“We stand with our OFWs and their families in these trying times, ready to execute all necessary measures for their protection,” wakas na pahayag ng mambabatas.
