SA detention facility na ng Kamara nagpalipas ng magdamag si dating Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque matapos i-cite in contempt ng quad committee kaugnay ng palusot sa pag-iisnab sa pagdinig hinggil sa illegal POGO, extrajudicial killings at paglabag sa karapatang pantao sa ilalim ng nakalipas na administrasyon.
Partikular na tinukoy ni Kabayan partylist Ron Salo ang pagliban sa ginanap na pagdinig noong Agosto 16.
Katwiran ni Roque sa hindi pagdalo, may naka iskedyul na pagdinig sa Manila Regional Trial Court (RTC) sa petsa ng mismong patawag ng Kongreso.
Nang beripikahin, nabisto naman ng quad comm na walang pagdinig sa naturang korte si Roque na hindi rin umano nagpakita sa husgado.
“I hate to say it but clearly Atty. Harry Roque, a former Secretary and my former law professor lied to this committee and that amounts disrespect to the members of the committee which is contemptible,” wika ni Salo.
Tulad ng inaasahan, may palusot ulit si Roque.
Inakala niya di umano na Huwebes ang naturang pagdinig ng komite gaya ng mga naunang pagdinig. Totoo rin umano na mayroon siyang dinaluhang pagdinig noong Agosto 15.
“It was an honest mistake, your honor. I’ve also been a member of this chamber, we don’t hold hearings on Fridays. So when I saw the notice of hearing I assumed that just like the first and the second hearing where I attended that it would be on a Thursday and that it is true that I had a hearing both in the morning and in the afternoon,” giit ni Roque.
“By the time I realized that it was a Friday and there was in fact a hearing, it was also already close to lunch time and the hearing was in Pampanga. So I apologize for the honest mistake. But the truth of the matter is I have been here on Thursdays, two hearings already and I just assumed that just like in the past, we don’t hold hearings on a Friday, that the hearing would be on a Thursday as in fact today is also a Thursday,” dugtong pa ng dating tagapagsalita ng Palasyo.
Sa kabila ng mga paliwanag ni Roque, nagpasya ang quad comm na i-cite in contempt at ikulong ng 24 oras sa House detention facility ang former Palace official.
Pinatawag si Roque sa pagdinig ng quad committee matapos madawit sa ilegal na operasyon ng POGO hub sa Porac, Pampanga.
