ISANG makasaysayang hakbang sa sektor ng public healthcare service ang ipapatupad ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. sa 22 pagamutan sa iba’t ibang bahagi ng bansa — ang zero billing para sa mga pasyenteng maralita.
Sa isang kalatas, pinapuruhan ni House Speaker Martin Romualdez ang naturang inisyatibang papawi sa bigat na pasan ng mga pasyenteng hindi makapagpagamot sa iniindang karamdaman bunsod ng kawalan ng perang pantustos sa gamutan.
“The zero-billing program is a clear demonstration of the President’s unwavering commitment to the Filipino people, ensuring that no one is left behind in receiving the medical care they need,” pahayag ni Romualdez.
“By covering all inpatient, outpatient, and emergency services in 22 public hospitals across the country, the President is turning his vision of universal healthcare into reality,” dagdag pa niya.
Batay sa direktiba ng Pangulo, ang Department of Health (DOH) ay inatasan maglaan ng P328 milyon para pondohan ang naturang programa, na sumasaklaw hindi lamang sa mga bayarin sa ospital kundi maging sa mga gamot at iba pang mahahalagang serbisyong medikal tulad ng chemotherapy, dialysis, dental na serbisyo, at mga laboratory procedure.
Ang programang ay una na ring naipatupad sa mga malalaking hospital sa National Capital Region, Luzon, Visayas, at Mindanao.
Para kay Romualdez, malaking bentahe sa mga maralitang mamamayan ang inistyatibang solusyon sa problemang katapat ng malaking gastusin sa pagpapagamot.
“Whether it’s dialysis, chemotherapy, or emergency treatment, the government is stepping up to provide real, tangible relief to our people,” anang lider ng Kamara.
“This extensive coverage shows the administration’s genuine concern for the health and welfare of Filipinos in every region of the country,” dugtong niya.
“This is the kind of leadership we need—decisive action that directly benefits the people. I stand firmly with President Marcos in this endeavor and pledge my full support in ensuring healthcare remains a top priority for our government,” sambit din ng lider ng Kamara.
Ang pormal na paglulunsad sa nabanggit na programa ay itinaon sa ika-67 kaarawan ni Presidente Marcos kahapon.
