PINANGUNAHAN ng mga kongresista mula sa tinaguriang “Young Guns” bloc ang pagiging produktibo ng Kamara ngayong 19th Congress sa ilalim ng pamumuno ni House Speaker Martin Romualdez.
“The numbers speak volumes about the commitment of this Congress to making a difference. From the filing of 13,454 measures to the enactment of 166 Republic Acts, this is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and unwavering focus of all 307 House members on addressing the needs of the Filipino people,” nagkakaisang pahayag ng mga mambabatas.
Kabilang sa Young Guns bloc sina Reps. Jay Khonghun (Zambales), Paolo Ortega V (La Union), Zia Alonto Adiong (Lanao del Sur), Jil Bongalon (Ako Bicol Party-list), Rodge Gutierrez (1-Rider Party-list), Pammy Zamora (Taguig), Margarita “Migs” Nograles (PBA Party-list), Cheeno Miguel Almario (Davao Oriental), Ernesto “Ernix” Dionisio Jr. (Manila), Lordan Suan (Cagayan de Oro City), Mikaela “Mika” Suansing (Nueva Ecija), at Inno Dy V (Isabela).
Para sa mga batang kongresista, ang record-breaking legislative output ng Kamara ay patunay ng sama samang pagsisikap, kolaborasyon, at dedikasyon ngayong 19th Congress.
Sa ilalim anila ng pamumuno ni Romualdez,nagkaroon ng pagkakataon ang mga mambabatas umusbong at makapaghatid ng serbisyo sa mga Pilipino.
“Every member of this Congress, regardless of district or party affiliation, worked tirelessly to ensure that every measure passed uplifts the lives of our constituents. This is governance in action,” pagmamalaki ng Young Guns.
Batay sa datos, mula Hulyo 25, 2022 hanggang Disyembre 27, 2024, pumalo sa 13,454 ang kabuuang bilang ng inihaing legislative measures — 11,241 panukalang batas, 2,212 resolusyon, at 1,319 committee report.
Naiproseso ng Mababang Kapulungan ang 4,760 panukala sa loob ng 178 session days na katumbas na 12 panukala kada sesyon.
“Processing an average of 12 measures per session day is a reflection of this Congress’ unparalleled commitment to legislative excellence. The passage of 166 Republic Acts—73 national and 93 local laws—proves that the Filipino people are at the heart of everything we do,” punto ng Young Guns.
Kinilala rin ng Young Guns ang mahalagang papel ng mga komite ng Kamara upang maisiwalat ang mga sistematikong isyu at makalikha ng mga panukalang batas na tutugon sa mga tinalakay na usapin.
Tinukoy ng grupo ang marathon hearing ng Quad Comm na nag-iimbestiga sa iligal na operasyon ng Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs), at ang kaugnayan nito sa kalakalan ng iligal na droga, land grabbing ng mga Chinese nationals, at extrajudicial killings sa madugong war on drugs ng administrasyong Duterte.
“These hearings exposed how POGOs facilitated money laundering, fueled the illegal drug trade, and enabled unlawful land acquisitions. Most chillingly, they revealed a troubling pattern of extrajudicial killings that underscored impunity and abuse of power,” sabi pa ng Young Guns.
Ang natuklasan sa pagdinig ay nagresulta sa panawagan upang magkaroon ng mas mahigpit na gaming regulations, mas epektibong crime prevention measures, at mga bagong hakbang para protektahan ang interes ng bansa at karapatang pantao.
Pinangunahan naman ng House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability ang imbestigasyon sa mali umanong paggamit ng kabuuang P612.5 milyong confidential funds ng Office of the Vice President at Department of Education sa ilalim ng pamumuno ni Vice President Sara Duterte.
Tinukoy din ng Young Guns ang imbestigasyon ng Quinta Comm, na mas kilala bilang Murang Pagkain Super Committee, na nag-iimbestiga sa agricultural smuggling, price manipulation, at mga kahinaan sa programa ng gobyerno upang labanan ang kagutuman, kasabay ng pagsusulong ng matatag ang presyo ng pagkain sa bansa.
“This ‘super committee’ has been a key force in holding market abusers accountable and ensuring government programs truly benefit the people,” anila.
Sa pagpasok ng huling yugto ng 19th Congress, muling iginiit ng Young Guns ang pangako — ipagpatuloy ang “momentum.”
“Every productive session reflects countless hours spent in committee hearings, exposing inefficiencies and crafting solutions that serve the people,” sabi ng mga ito. “The achievements of this Congress go beyond numbers. They represent hope, progress, and a commitment to nation-building that will leave a lasting legacy.”
Iginiit ng Young Guns na malaking bentahe ang pamumuno ni Romualdez para pag-isahin ang mga mambabatas tungo sa iisang hangaring.
