PARA sa isang militanteng kongresista, taliwas sa mga probisyon ng 1987 Constitution ang pakikisawsaw ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. sa isinusulong na impeachment laban kay Vice President Sara Duterte.
Sa isang pahayag, iginiit ni ACT Teachers partylist Rep. France Castro na mandato ng Kongreso iproseso ang tatlong impeachment complaints na inihain sa Kamara, alinsunod sa umiiral na saligang batas.
Panawagan ni Castro sa mga kapwa kongresista, dinggin at bigyan ng kaukulang aksyon ang sentimyento ng mamamayan para sa tinawag niyang “accountability” sa hanay ng mga opisyal ng pamahalaan.
“President Marcos should not interfere with the impeachment process. Congress has a constitutional duty to process this case immediately. The people deserve accountability and transparency,” wika ni Castro.
“Kung makukuha agad ang 103 endorsers next week ay agad na maipapasa ito sa Senado at di na poproblemahin ang bilang o pag-attend ng mga congressman dahil Senado na bahala dito. The Senate can then promptly tackle this or call for a special session, if necessary,” dugtong ni Castro na tumatayong Deputy Minority Leader ng mababang kapulungan.
Hirit ng militanteng kongresista sa mga mambabatas, tuparin ang constitutional mandate, kasabay sa hiling na manindigan at wag magpaapekto.
