MULING kumipot ang daan patungo sa pangarap ni Justice Secretary Crispin Remulla na maging Ombudsman, matapos sampahan ng disbarment complaint kaugnay ng umano’y “pagkidnap” kay former President Rodrigo Duterte.
Bukod kay Remulla, kasama rin sa reklamong isinumite ni Davao City acting Mayor Baste Duterte sa Supreme Court (SC) Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr., Justice Undersecretary Nicholas Felix Ty, at Prosecutor General Richard Anthony Fadullon.
“In the light of the fact that the family has decided to file a disbarment complaint against these lawyers who happen to be high officials of the land, Acting Mayor Sebastian Z. Duterte decided to file it himself on behalf of the family,” wika ni Atty. Israel Torreon na tumatayong abogado ng complainant na anak ng dating pangulo.
Nananatili sa kulungan ng International Criminal Court (ICC) sa The Hague, Netherlands ang matandang Duterte kaugnay ng kasong crimes against humanity na naganap umano sa giyera kontra droga noong nakalipas na administrasyon.
Samantala, hindi naman ikinagulat ni Remulla ang paghahain ng disbarment complaint laban sa kanya ng kampo ni Duterte.
“Your critics will always be there. I will just roll with the punches,” ani Remulla.
Dagdag pa niya, “They can’t hide their displeasure with what we’ve done or what we have sought to do for the ends of justice.”
Tinawag din niyang “forum shopping” ang panibagong reklamo, at sinabi na hindi ito ang unang kaso na isinampa ng kampo ng mga Duterte laban sa kanya.
