WALANG plano ang pamunuan ng National Unity Party (NUP) diktahan ang mga miyembro sa usapin ng isinusulong na impeachment laban kay Vice President Sara Duterte.
Garantiya ni Deputy Speaker Ronaldo Puno na tumatayong chairman ng NUP, suportado ng partido ang mga programa ng administrasyon, gayundin ang mga panukalang batas na naglalayon tiyakin ang katatagan ng bansa.
Gayunpaman, nilinaw ni Puno na hindi kultura sa loob ng partido magdikta sa mga miyembro sa usapin ng impeachment na ikinakasa laban sa pangalawang pangulo.
“The National Unity Party has, since its inception, consistently stood as a reliable and steadfast partner of the administration, supporting its priorities and ensuring stability in governance,” ani Puno.
Subalit nilinaw ni Puno na malaya ang mga miyembro ng partido magpasya sa kapalaran ng bise-presidente na nahaharap sa posibilidad na matanggal sa pwesto sa bisa ng impeachment.
“At the same time, on a matter as serious as impeachment, every Member must be guided by their own judgment, their conscience, and the interests of the people they represent,” dagdag pa ng mambabatas.
Anuman aniya ang resulta ng botohan sa plenaryo sa impeachment complaints laban kay Duterte, makakaasa ang administrasyon sa suporta sa (NUP) na may 53 miyembrong kongresista sa Kamara.
“We believe impeachment is a constitutional process, not a partisan exercise. The strength of our institutions lies in allowing each Member to decide freely, without undue pressure or expectation of uniformity.”
Inaasahang isasalang sa plenary voting ang Articles of Impeachment kontra Sara sa Mayo 11.
“Our support for the administration remains steady. At the same time, we must ensure that constitutional duties are carried out with integrity, independence, and full respect for the role of each Member of Congress.”
