ISA na naman sakit ng ulo ang bumungad sa araw ni Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KJC) founder Pastor Apollo Quiboloy matapos maglabas ng warrant of arrest laban sa kanya ang Davao Regional Trial Court kaugnay ng mga kasong panghahalay.
Bukod kay Quiboloy, puntirya din sa mga ponapaaresto ng korte sina Jackiely W. Roy, Cresente Canada, Paulene Canada, Ingrid C. Canada, at Sylvia Camanes na pawang nahaharap sa kasong paglabag ng Republic Act 7610 (Anti-Child Abuse Law).
Marso 14 ng kasalukuyang taon nang maglabas ng mandamiento de arresto ang Davao RTC laban kay Quiboloy at iba pa kaugnay ng pang-aabuso at pagmamaltrato sa mga menor de edad.
Gayunpaman, agad na binawi ng husgado ang warrant matapos maghain sa Department of Justice ang kampo ng kontrobersyal na religious leader ng motion for reconsideration.
Subalit matapos ang tatlong linggo, muling inilabas ng Davao RTC ang warrant. Katwiran ng korte – masyado nang mahaba ang panahon sa paghihintay ng husgado sa resolusyon kaugnay ng isinumiteng motion for reconsideration.
“Having received none as of this date, the Court declines this time to await. As what was earlier determined upon judicious examination and perusal of information where it found probable cause, let the warrants of arrest already issued be implemented immediately,” saad sa isang bahagi ng kalatas ng Davao RTC.
“The Court, mindful of the equally situated rights of both the prosecution and defense, which may include among others, the speedy disposition and speedy trial cases, either of which or both, said right imposes an imperative task that this Court is indebted to fulfill.”
