PALAISIPAN sa Palasyo kung dapat nang humanap ng bagong Press Secretary si Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr., matapos dedmahin ng Commission on Appointments (CA) si Presidential Communications Secretary Jay Ruiz.
Bukod kay Ruiz, hindi rin inaksyunan ng CA ang ad interim appointment ni Department of Information Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Henry Rhoel Aguda.
Sa ilalim ng umiiral na panuntunan ng pamahalaan, may dalawang pwedeng gawin ang Pangulo kina Ruiz at Aguda — i-reappoint para manatili sa kani-kanilang mga posisyon, o tuluyang sibakin sa pwesto.
“Deemed bypassed as soon as we adjourned the session today, the last session of Commission of Appointments, they will be bypassed and they would be needing reappointment from the President,” ayon kay Senador Joel Villanueva.
Noong nagdaang linggo, sinuspinde ng CA ang deliberasyon at kumpirmasyon ng appointment nina Ruiz at Aguda dahil sa kawalan ng oras.
Kapwa nagsumite ng “unqualified courtesy resignation” sina Ruiz at Aguda, alinsunod sa direktiba ng Palasyo.
Buwan pa ng Pebrero nang hirangin ni Marcos si Ruiz, kapalit ni former Press Secretary Cesar Chavez. Marso naman itinalaga si Aguda bunsod ng pagbibitiw ng noo’y DICT Secretary Ivan Uy.
Kabilang sa mga Kalihim na binasbasan ng CA sina Department of Foreign Affairs Secretary Ma. Theresa Lazaro at Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development Secretary Jose Ramon Pangilinan Aliling.
Lusot din sa CA ang pagtaas sa ranggo ng 118 senior officers ng Armed Forces of the Philippines. (ESTONG REYES)
