IKINASA ng liderato ng Kamara, ngayong araw ng Lunes, ang pagsisimula ng plenary deliberation sa panukalang P6.352-trillion national budget para sa susunod na taon.
Ayon kay Speaker Martin Romualdez, mahalaga ang paghimay ng Kongreso sa naturang pondo, na siyang susuporta at nakatuon sa katuparan ng Agenda for Prosperity at Bagong Pilipinas programs ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
“It will be our instrument in directly helping the poor through various social protection, financial aid and medical programs, and in keeping food prices down, particularly the price of rice which has fallen to P42 a kilo,” sabi pa ng pinuno ng 300-plus strong na House of Representatives.
Dagdag ng House Speaker, sa ilalim ng 2025 General Appropriations Bill (GAB), inaasahan na matutulungan ang mga magsasaka at mangingisda upang lumaki ang produksyon kasabay ng pag-angat ng kani-kanilang kabuhayan sa hangaring itaas ang produksyon ng pagkain sa bansa.
Kumbinsido rin si Romualdez na bababa ang presyo ng mga pagkain sa sandaling maisaayos ang kalagayan ng sektor ng agrikultura.
Sinabi ng lider ng Kamara na ang panukalang badyet ay magsisilbing “roadmap” sa pagpapalawig ng mga imprastraktura at suporta sa edukasyon sa pamamagitan ng pagtatayo ng mga kalsada at silid-aralan lalo na sa mga komunidad na lubhang nangangailangan.
“It will be our tool for sustaining our country’s economic growth, which we hope to keep at six percent or higher in line with the forecasts of international lending institutions,” ani Romualdez.
Pinasalamatan din ng lider ng Kamara si House Committee on Appropriations chairman at Ako Bicol Partylist Rep. Zaldy Co at senior vice chairperson at Marikina City Rep. Stella Quimbo sa pagtapos ng panukalang badyet sa oras.
Batay sa iskedyul ng deliberasyon, walong araw ang inilaan para sa debate sa plenaryo na magsisimula ng alas-10 ng umaga sa Lunes at matatapos bago ang adjournment ng sesyon sa Setyembre 25.
Magsisimula ang deliberasyon sa sponsorship speech ni Co, na susundan ng debate ng general principles at panukalang badyet ng Department of Finance, Department of Justice at National Economic and Development Authority, kasama ang attached agency at lumpsum budget ng mga nabanggit na ahensya.
Sa Martes, ang sasalang ay ang mga panukalang budget ng Office of the Ombudsman, Commission on Human Rights, kasama ang Human Rights Violations’ Memorial Commission, Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development, Department of Interior and Local Government, Department of Tourism, and Development of Labor and Employment, at mga attached agencies.
Sa Miyerkules, ang panukalang budget ng Commission on Elections, Department of Agrarian Reform, Department of Foreign Affairs, Department of Trade and Industry, at ilan pang executive offices at state colleges and universities ang isasalang.
Sa Huwebes, adyenda naman ng deliberasyon ang panukalang budget ng Department of National Defense, Department of Migrant Workers, Department of Environment and Natural Resources, at mga attached agencies, at budgetary support sa mga government corporations.
Pagsapit ng Biyernes, nakatakdang himayin ang panukalang budget ng Presidential Communications Office, Department of Science and Technology, Metro Manila Development Authority, ilan pang Executive offices at government corporations.
Mula Setyembre 23 hanggang 25, asahan naman ang pagtalakay sa budget ng mga nalalabing departamento, ahensya at executive offices, kabilang ang Departments of Agriculture, Health, Energy, Education, Social Welfare and development, at Transportation, Civil Service Commission at Commission on Audit.
Sa Setyembre 23 naman inaasahan ang muling pagbusisi ng Appropriations committee sa budget ng Office of the Vice President (OVP).
