SA hangaring pilayan at wakasan ang operasyon ng mga illegal POGO, ikinasa ng Office of Solicitor General (OSG) ang susunod na hakbang ng gobyerno – ang pagkumpiska sa yaman ng mga offshore gaming operators.
Ayon kay Solicitor General Menardo Guevarra, nakatakda na rin ilarga ng OSG ang kanselasyon ng mga birth certificates na ginamit ng mga dayuhan na sangkot sa operasyon ng mga illegal POGO.
“The OSG’s massive post-POGO tasks will consist of cancelling all certificates of birth fraudulently acquired by aliens or foreign nationals and forfeiting their illegally acquired real properties and other assets in the Philippines,” wika ni Guevarra.
Gayunpaman, inamin ni Guevarra na patuloy pa ang isinasagawang pagtutuos ng pamahalaan para mabatid ang halaga ng yaman ng mga illegal POGO.
“At this time, we have no definite figures on the aggregate value of these assets. The first order of the day is to take possession of and control over them,” ani Guevarra.
Dati nang sinabi ni Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin na itinutulak ng pamahalaan ang mas mabilis na proseso sa sequestration at forfeiture cases sa mga pag-aari at assets ng mga ipinasarang POGO.
